The incredible magic of that very special day of celebration on September 22 continues to fill our hearts. Please see the links below to keep the story circulating.

A Blog Post from Robert Nieweg of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The NTHP was a co-sponsor of this historic commemoration and Rob walked the river in honor of those who took that very important first step in 1862.

A video produced by Pastor Nathaniel Harpe of the Providence Baptist Church. Pastor Harpe was an active participant and one of three readers of the names of men born in Culpeper who left to become members of the United States Colored Troops.

A video produced by Luigi Bennedetto in honor of the remarkable event of 1862 and the almost equally remarkable first-ever celebration on the 150th Anniversary in 2012.

Please pass along to your friends and family.
